The Tyneside Cinema

The Tyneside Cinema is Newcastle's major independent cinema and has connections with many areas of the University.

The Schools of English and Modern Languages collaborate with the cinema to provide modules on film exhibition. They are available as options on the MA in Film, including:

  • FMS8356 Exhibition Cultures: Film Programming and Marketing
  • the Professional Placement - a two-week work placement where students explore issues in cultural management

The is organised in collaboration with the School. It is open to anyone to attend. Guest presenters introduce regular screenings of literary adaptations. The presenter also leads an informal discussion after the film.
