Dr Helen Limon

Background

Dr Helen Limon is a Teaching Fellow, writer and researcher at Newcastle University's School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics. Dr Limon has published fiction for adults and children in a variety of forms: her first novel for children, won the Frances Lincoln Diverse Voices award in 2014. She sits on the editorial board of the adult literacy publisher, Simply Stories, and is a member of the International COST network for literacy, funded by the European Union. She works closely with Seven Stories the National Centre for Childrens Books and is a member of the International Board for Books for Young People (IBBY). She has a research interest in the role of creative writing in the experience of transition to civilian life for military veterans and is a member of the ERGOMAS working group: The Veteran and Society.
