PhD Research Students
Current PhD research in the Swan Centre covers a range of topics, including carbon sequestration, renewable energies, low-carbon fuels and integrated systems. Subject areas upon which our PhD students are currently engaged in research include:
- underground coal gasification;
- carbon transport, capture and storage;
- impact assessment of bioenergy plantations;
- reactive extraction technology for biodiesel production;
- renewable energy storage and utilisation in fuel cells systems;
- vertical axis tidal energy devices;
- investigation into the free-piston engine concept and its potential for high efficiency and low emissions power generation;
- life-cycle assessment of use of recycled materials in asphalt pavement.
