HTA - Hydro-Testing Alliance - An alliance to enhance the maritime testing infrastructure in the EU

Hydro-Testing Alliance (HTA) is the European Network of Excellence to facilitate the continuation of world leadership of the European Hydrodynamic testing facilities. The Hydro-Testing Alliance Project started on the 1st of September 2006 and it has the duration of 5 years.

The objective of this alliance is to develop a formal and lasting structure to coordinate the definition and introduction of novel measurement, observation and analysis technologies for hydrodynamic model testing. The HTA is a practical organisation in order to have: • a structured R&D environment for its researches, • better commercial acceptance by the maritime industry, • better support from the management of the market driven marine testing environment.

The School of Marine Science and Technology involvement in HTA has, beside others, the major rôle of creating links between Industrial companies and Academia. During the course of the HTA Project several Summer Schools and Conferences will be organised and Student Internships will be promoted.
