Condition monitoring techniques dedicated for wind turbine drive-train and DC-link capacitor

Developing advanced condition monitoring techniques dedicated for wind turbine drive train and DC-link capacitors.

This is a three-year Technology Strategy Board (TSB) funded Knowledge transfer (KTP) project with National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec). The purpose is to develop advanced condition monitoring techniques dedicated for wind turbine drive train and DC-link capacitors. The novelty of this project is that it uses less number of transducers to accomplish the condition monitoring of the whole wind turbine drive train and partial power electronic control system. It is hence simpler and more cost-effective in contrast to conventional condition monitoring techniques designed for wind turbines.
