About Us
Sustainability Team
The Sustainability Team is based in Newcastle University's Estate Support Service, and is responsible for a variety of environmental sustainability issues, including energy and waste management. As a central service, our purpose is to introduce systems and processes to demonstrate continuous improvement in environmental performance, ensuring best practice, statutory compliance and value for money.
Matt Dunlop - Energy & Sustainability Manager
Matt is responsible for the University's Carbon Management Plan, and oversees the energy and carbon management of the University. Matt also manages the Sustainability Team.

George Chambers - Assistant Energy Manager
George runs the Building Management System (BMS) which controls the heating and cooling systems across campus. George also looks after the technical aspects of our utilities consumption, such as the electricity meters.

Sean is the Biodiversity Coordinator and is responsible for the implementation of the University's Biodiversity policy. Sean helps to engage staff and the local community with biodiversity on campus.
