Slip, Trip and Fall accidents is an area of concern where the University's accident record is not improving as quickly as we would like.

A University Slips, Trips and Falls Working Group has been set up with the target of reducing accidents by 10% from the 2011 baseline. Each area of the University is being encouraged to review the management of slips, trips and falls. This will include risk assessment updates, revised inspection checklists and a poster campaign.

How you can help:

• Be mindful of slips, trips and falls hazards.

Take 15-20 minutes to complete the on-line HSE STEP training package this link will take you to the campaign web page

• Report any accidents and near misses to the Safety Office using the accident/incident form.

• Report defects to ESS Customer Services on 0191 2227171.
