Please put your waste cans in the metal food and drink can recycling bins situated around campus .
- No used food trays please.
- Rinse cans if they contain any food residues
Please note: We can also recycle most metal packaging including aerosol cans, foil, pie tins, sweet tins etc.
Benefit of Recycling Cans
Metals can be recycled indefinitely without loosing any of their properties. Aluminium is also the most cost-effective material to recycle.
For example, recycling aluminium requires only 5% of the energy and produces only 5% of the CO2 emissions as compared with primary production and reduces the waste going to landfill. (Source: Waste Online)
