A musical exploration of the lute's journey from the Middle East to Europe. Repertoire to include solos from the Middle Eastern 'Ud and the European renaissance lute traditions, as well as dances from medieval Spain and Italy, and duo improvisations.

A programme of romantic and stylistically diverse contemporary works for trombone, piano and CD, from Europe, Japan and Australia. Music by Rachmaninov, Wolff, Debussy, Elena Apostol, Jonathan Harvey, Stuart Greenbaum and Takashi Fujii, concluding with Ernst Krenek's highly entertaining Five Pieces.
