Celebrating Research Scholarships and Expeditions 2016

The event is a presentation and celebration of the summer project work of undergraduate students.

Date/Time: 23 November 2016; 16:30 - 21:00

Venue: Lindisfarne and Curtis Auditorium

The students have carried out projects funded through the Research Scholarships Scheme or the University Expeditions Committee. The 2016 promotional brochure, which contains details of the full timetable for the reception as well as all student projects (111 this year) is currently being finalised.

The presentations will be held from 4:00 p.m. in the Lindisfarne Room, King’s Road Centre, starting with a display of posters demonstrating the breadth of research projects undertaken.

Research Scholarships and Expeditions cover a wide range of activities such as researching new archival material in Newcastle or further afield; working on archaeological material; collecting, analysing and interpreting social data; working on a lab-based project alongside members of a research team; or undertaking an overseas research project. Both Research Scholarship projects and Expeditions provide students with opportunity to develop organisational and problem solving skills and foster ability to work effectively in teams. If you would like to see previous presentations and examples of posters produced please see the Research Scholarships and Expeditions website.

Free, all welcome.
