Sir Peter, who is Chair of the General Medical Council, will take the audience through the evolution of the medical profession from the nineteenth century through to the present day focusing – at times light-heartedly – on the watershed moments that have defined the relationship between doctors and society. Sir Peter also considers some of the people who led change and those who resisted it.
