The Newcastle Institute for Social Renewal is seeking the ten best evidence-based ideas for policies relating to social renewal which could be included in the political parties’ 2015 General Election manifestos.
The best idea will win a prize of £1000, and the other short-listed ideas will win prizes of £200. All will be included in a NISR document which will be sent to the main political parties and disseminated widely through the media.

The competition is open to all staff and students of Newcastle University. Entries should be no longer than 4 sides of A4 and should be sent to socialrenewal@ncl.ac.uk by the closing date of October 20th 2013. A short-list will be selected by the end of November, with the winners announced and presented with their prizes at a special event in December 2013.
Entries should offer imaginative proposals related to the Social Renewal challenge of how people, communities and societies can thrive when faced with rapid, transformational change.
They should be supported by convincing evidence (this can include your own research and research of others) and they will be assessed in terms of:
