A space for postgraduate researchers from the HASS Faculty
A day to discuss and explore how to enable and sustain your role and practice with fellow postgraduate researchers and professional arts practitioners.
Topics will include:
• how to keep going as an artist, especially beyond the university
Creative, enterprising and entrepreneurial: this is the profile you need to stand out from the crowd in the global economy of the 21st century so even if self-employment isn’t your immediate goal, this workshop will help you to develop the key skills employers look for in today’s postgraduates.
You may not have seriously considered the idea of self-employment or freelancing but for a postgraduate researcher this is a very real option. No matter what your discipline, many of the attributes you are developing as a researcher would equip you well for this career route.
It may be that you have the seed of a creative business idea but you are not sure what to do next. Many of our postgrad clients are trying to find some way to continue to do what they love, often looking at ways to develop and sustain the output from a research project. Whatever stage you might be at this workshop will help you to explore your options and direct you towards to expert advice, support and opportunities.
