Current projects include:
SIDE (Social Inclusion through the Digital Economy), and 'A History of Women in the British Film and Television Industries.' Recent projects have included an international conference Revisiting Star Studies the Beijing Independent Film Festival, and a one day conference on New Uses of Bourdieu in Film and Media Studies Previously the Centre held symposia on Crime, Gender and Representation and Women, Aging and Popular Cinema and contributed to the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2011.
We also developed several film and digital media related events as part of the University’s Societal Challenge Theme for 2012 on Social renewal.
The Centre has been granted internal funding under the university's latest Societal Challenge Theme, on the topic of Social Renewal.
