Public Interest
The Freedom of Information Act provides that the University may be required to disclose information, even where an exemption applies, if the public interest in disclosure outweighs the public interest in maintaining the exemption.
Where the University is required to consider the public interest, and where no decision has been made as to whether to disclose in the public interest, we must inform you within 20 working days of your request being received that this is the case and we must also provide you, at the time of writing, with an estimate of the date by which the University will have reached its decision.
