By providing all students with skills that will last a lifetime, and knowledge which is relevant we can educate our students for life.
At Newcastle University, in order to provide a fully-rounded experience, we aim to provide extra-curricular opportunities for travel, sport, volunteering and working with the local community, which are supported by the Careers Service and Students’ Union amongst others.
Sports Outreach Volunteer ProgrammeNewcastle University’s Sports Outreach Volunteer Programme brings together our students with local schools, sports clubs and community groups to encourage more children and young people to participate in sport.
It offers students volunteering opportunities in coaching, officiating, event management and mentoring with looked after children, young homeless people, schools and young volunteers. Your gift to the Annual Fund will help us train more students as sports coaches.
We also require funds for our performance sport programme.
The ncl+ Foundation offers expertise, support and funding to our students and societies with social, community or cultural projects. Through donations to the Annual Fund we can help new ideas become projects and encourage our students to develop their skills; gaining valuable experience whilst adding to their degrees.
Gateway Scholarships offer our international students the opportunity to study at Newcastle for one year as part of their undergraduate degree. We currently have Gateway Scholarship opportunities for undergraduate students in the US, Canada, Norway and Greece.
Overseas study provides a great opportunity for students to broaden their minds and enhance their University experience. Exposure to diverse cultures and different educational styles significantly enhances the employability of graduates.
Currently, tuition fees for our international students are between £10,525 and £13,765 per year. Donations to our Gateway Scholarship Appeals help to ease this financial strain that international students face, providing a unique opportunity for students to study abroad and making a big difference to the rich cultural mix of our campus here at Newcastle.
