Newcastle University’s Sports Outreach Volunteer Programme brings together our students with local schools, sports clubs and community groups to encourage more children and young people to participate in sport.
The programme trains our students to be volunteer Sports Coaches. It offers students volunteering opportunities in coaching, officiating, event management and mentoring with looked after children, young homeless people, schools and young volunteers.
The Sports Outreach programme gives students the chance to develop new skills, put old ones into use, enhance their CV and try something different. For the local schools, clubs and community groups involved, it provides a greater range of sporting activities and opportunities for the children and young people they work with.

With your gift, our student volunteers will be able to encourage more children and young people to take part in regular sports activities and have the chance to try new sports.
