Play, based on Geography Teaching Fellow Michael Richardson's PhD research, tours as part of the Festival

Based on research undertaken by Michael Richardson as part of his PhD, the play 'Under Us All' will be touring North East England as part of the 2013 ESRC Festival of Social Science

Under Us All, a new one-man theatre production, presents the testimonies of three generations of a Tyneside Irish family. A grandfather, father and son discuss how industry, family, work and community have changed over the decades. Their stories show how attitudes have shifted from one generation to the next. Alongside the show Michael Richardson and Cap-a-Pie will be running a workshop where participants will be encouraged to take part in the research process by interviewing one another and sharing their memories, before looking at ways of communicating their findings through performance

Performances will take place at 4 venues across the North East:

6th November 2013, Newbiggin Maritime Centre, Church Point, Newbiggin by the Sea details

7th November 2013, Northern Stage, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne details
