Professor John Goddard has been awarded the Lord Dearing lifetime achievement award
Professor John Goddard OBE, Emeritus Professor of Regional Studies, was presented with the Lord Dearing Lifetime Achievement Award at the Times Higher Education Awards on the 29th November 2012
John was honoured at the ceremony in London for his pioneering work on the role of the civic university and the contribution that universities – like Newcastle – can make to society at large.
On receiving his award John said: “I’m speechless; it’s the nicest thing that’s ever happened to me in my academic career.”
