- Developing the employability of our graduates is something we value strongly at Newcastle, so much so we have our very own Geography Employability Coordinator.
- We offer an innovative and very popular Work Experience module option for our final year students.
- Our teaching draws upon rich and diverse research networks connecting to the world of work. What we teach captures insights from employers ranging from governmental bodies and policy makers, NGOs, the private sector and charities.
- Our degree programmes are structured to enable students to become independent and active researchers, culminating in the Dissertation in Stage 3. Employers tell us this one of the key reasons why Newcastle Geography graduates are so successful in the graduate labour market.
- A Newcastle Geography degree is informed and endorsed by Newcastle University’s Graduate Skills Framework. Newcastle University works closely with key employers to define the graduate skills which, when added to your degree, will give you the skills you will need in your life beyond university.
We actively work with Newcastle University’s award winning career service ncl+, to ensure that our programmes provide a platform for students to integrate their Geography studies with the widest array of career development activities available.
