Mémoire, lien social et topographie locale à Dodworth (2007)

Author(s): Degnen C

Abstract: Based on fieldwork in the north of England with older residents of a former coal mining village, I examine the work of memory and its complex interactions with place, social relations and social rupture. Emerging from this research is the embeddedness of local knowledge and social relations in local places, a phenomenon I explore in terms of what I call a “three-dimensionality of memory”.
