The School is well equipped to undertake research work across the social sciences and in the field of physical geography.

The Newcastle Institute for Sustainability hosts a range of facilities and services used by research staff in the School.

The Jean Monnet Centre is a key resource that staff and students in the School use when engaging with the wider community on the subject of the European Union through their seminars, debating and other activities.
