Liz Robson joined CURDS in September 2000 as a research associate, leaving in 2004 to work for the Regional Development Agency as a skills and employment analyst.  She returned in 2011 as a visiting fellow supporting the work of Ranald Richardson and the SiDE project which aims to tackle social exclusion by making it easier for people to access the life-changing benefits offered by digital technologies.

In July 2014 she re-joined CURDS to as a researcher on the SiDE project to explore the benefits and costs associated with the global interest and focus on the potential of digital technologies such as big data and social media.

Research Interests

Her research interests have a people and place development focus and have included investigations of the cultural industries, culture-led regeneration and technolgies on occupational transitions, economic inclusion and regional prosperity. She has also worked on successful projects to effectively organise and network individuals through web-enabled technologies.

She is currently working on the impact of digital technologies on people and place development with a particular focus on social media and big data.
