My main research interests concern (Fluvial) Geomorphology and Alluvial Geoarchaeology. I am particularly interested in the influence of Late Quaternary human, climate and tectonic changes on Mediterranean landscape development and fluvial behaviour. My research revolves around two broad themes: i) Impact of Late Quaternary climate and land-use changes on Mediterranean fluvial activity and denudation rates/styles and ii) Land-atmosphere-ocean linkages in the Mediterranean.
I am currently involved in a multi-disciplinary research project in the Gediz valley (W Turkey), focussing on Quaternary landscape development and palaeoenvironments. Furthermore, ongoing research in Greece aims to relate the fluvial sediment-landform record to global climate change through linkages with the marine record.
