Introduction

I am from Cork, Ireland.  On leaving school, I studied Music, first in Ireland and then in the United states.  I then studied for degrees in English and Philosophy before going on to write a PhD in Political Theory.  I came to Newcastle in September 2004.  I teach Political Theory and Comparative Politics and I write mainly on Deliberative Democracy.

Political theory, especially questions about the nature and requirements of democracy in multicultural and multinational societies.
