Archaeology MA student Lauren Proctor has been awarded this year's Parkes Weber Prize by the Royal Numismatic Society. The award is made to a young scholar for an original unpublished research paper relating to coins. Lauren's winning essay was titled 'The Movement of Money: a study of the distribution of long cross pennies in the north east of England in the Middle Ages'. She undertook the research for her 2011 BA dissertation in Archaeology, also at Newcastle University. Congratulations, Lauren!
