London Alumni Reception

On the balmy late summer evening of Thursday 6 September, the School hosted its second London alumni reception for its History, and History & Politics, graduates.  The first had taken place in 2007 at Shakespeare’s Globe, on the banks of the Thames; this was held in Mayfair, at the Royal Institution of Great Britain.  150 former students attended, and took wholly expected advantage of the bar and catering arrangements.  They were treated to an all too brief welcome by the History Alumni Officer and host for the evening, Dr Martin Farr, and also by Professor Tim Kirk, as Head of School, Professor Susan-Mary Grant, as Deputy Head of School, and Dr Joan Allen, as Head of History; Professor Tony Spawforth was selflessly in attendance to offer an Ancient History presence.  A substantial number of guests continued reuniting in local establishments after the event itself, and at least a dozen made it through to breakfast.

The School is very grateful for the support of Katie Harland and the Development and Alumni Relations Office for making the evening possible.
