The School of Historical Studies is home to an impressive lineup of scholars who are interested in and work on the Roman world: historians, archaeologists, literary critics, linguists. In the last academic year we have created an informal forum where all the members of the School who have Roman interests (staff, visiting fellows, and graduate students) congregate, discuss their current work, and get to hear about other people's research: the Research Roman Forum. We have now published the first Newsletter (PDF) of the Forum. We hope that it conveys a good picture of how lively and diverse the current work on the Roman world is at Newcastle, and of what an attractive place Newcastle is for anyone who is interested in the civilization of ancient Rome.
