Introduction

Dr Andrew David Stedman teaches history at Newcastle University. His first monograph, Alternatives to Appeasement: Neville Chamberlain and Hitler’s Germany was published by I.B. Tauris in 2011 and he has a range of other publications on inter-war British foreign policy to his name. His PhD thesis won the British International History Group 2008 Thesis Prize.

Module Leader, Encounters in World History. Also lectures and seminars for Varieties of History and Aspects of British History.

Member: British International History Group (under the auspices of the British International Studies Association); Institute of Historical Research.

Honours and Awards

Winner of the BIHG 2008 Thesis Prize; Runner Up for the IHR Pollard Prize in 2007; Winner of the Kingston University Postgraduate Scholarship Award in 2004.

Modern British and European History, specifically inter-war Europe and foreign affairs.
