My work focuses on the political, social and intellectual history of early modern Britain. I have particular research interests in the English Revolution, literature and politics, radical movements, architectural history, regional history and archives. I am module leader for HIS1004: Aspects of British History and HIS8025: MA Pathway in British History. Recent publications include Brave Community: the Digger Movement in the English Revolution (Manchester: Manchester University Press, 2007; paperback 2012) and Gerrard Winstanley: The Digger's Life and Legacy (London: Pluto Press, 2012).
