Introduction

I specialise in transnational history. My research has concentrated on 19th century connections between the English and Italy from a 'history from below' perspective. I particularly focused on the ties between English radicals and Italian democrats during the long Risorgimento.

I am currently researching Anglo-American republican connections in the nineteenth century, particularly focusing on the transnational support for the ideas of Giuseppe Mazzini.
