Subject Area: PhD History, C18th gender and print culture
I am studying for a PhD in History under the supervision of Dr. Helen Berry. I am ARHC funded and the working title of my thesis is ‘Georgian Women in the Business of Print: Gender and the Provincial Press of Northern England’. I am interested in female proprietors of provincial newspapers, particularly their gender identity or lack thereof.
I am Chair and Editor of the School of Historical Studies Postgraduate Forum (PGF) which puts on fortnightly seminars and an annual conference for postgraduates to present their current research in front of fellow students and staff.
