PhysioNow

Connect Physical Health Ltd's innovative online tool, 'PhysioNow' will be available online from 3rd December and provides 'online' musculoskeletal assessment, triage and advice for use by University staff.

The product has been developed over 18 months after obtaining a grant from Science City and is now ready to trial in order to evaluate its efficacy. Through its strong links with Connect as existing physiotherapy provider, Newcastle University has agreed to allow employees access to this online tool during the trial.

An employee experiencing new or existing musculoskeletal problems, particularly any aches or pains associated with or affecting a staff member's working activities will be able to complete the 10-15 minute online assessment. They will then receive online advice from Connect physiotherapists on how to manage their problem and whether or not to seek further medical help.

Where appropriate, a series of exercises as downloadable pdfs, personalised in order to help speed up recovery, will be provided, as well as ‘self help’ information and advice leaflets.

The scheme will run for a number of months after which time the results will be evaluated and the benefits measured. It will be free to staff for the duration of the trial. It will be accessible via the Keep Well pages.
