The University shows its appreciation to staff by awarding an additional day's leave for 2011/12

As announced on Thursday by the Vice-Chancellor, the University Executive Board has proposed and Remuneration Committee has agreed to award an additional day to be added to the annual leave entitlement of current employees for the current holiday year, 2011/12.

This additional day is a means of showing the University's appreciation to our staff for their contribution to a number of achievements by the University during the current year.  These include the National Student Survey results, our graduate employability figures, our position in various league tables, and the amount of research income achieved.  These successes have been achieved during a period of considerable change and uncertainty.

This additional day is to be applied in the same way as the existing annual leave entitlement, so that it will be applied on a pro rata basis for staff working part-time.  The additional leave may be taken at any time, subject to the usual agreement with the line manager.
