Business strategy. International business. Organization studies. Business history.

Current Work

Business elites and corporate governance. With Prof Mairi Maclean (Exeter University Business School).

Entrepreneurial philanthropy. With Dr Eleanor Shaw and Jillian Gordon (Strathclyde Business School) and Prof Mairi Maclean (Exeter University Business School). A research group of the ESRC Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy.

Transnational entrepreneurship and the Indian business elite. With Dr Ajit Nayak (Bath School of Management), Prof Mairi Maclean (Exeter University Business School), and Prof Robert Chia (Strathclyde Business School).

History and strategy. With Prof John Sillince (Strathclyde Business School) and Prof Mairi Maclean (Exeter University Business School).

Postgraduate Supervision

Professor Harvey has supervised more than thirty doctoral projects to a successful conclusion. He undertakes supervision in the fields of Business Strategy, Organization Studies, Business History, Corporate Elites and Governance.

Co-Editor, Association of Business Schools "Guide to Academic Journal Quality". Industrial Relevance

Professor Harvey has worked as consultant and management educator on major assignments for numerous organisations, including IBM, Sainsburys, J P Morgan, Babcock International, Bombardier Transportation and several NHS Trusts.
