The Clinical Ageing Research Unit (CARU) is a £5.5 million clinical research facility funded by the Wellcome Trust and Wolfson Foundation. The focus of CARU is to do research into conditions associated with ageing and in particular to facilitate the development of early assessment and intervention strategies targeted at age-associated degenerative conditions.
CARU is staffed by a team of experienced and well-qualified research nurses and research professionals who are trained to Good Clinical Practice standards and who provide general support for clinical trials.
