Quality of Ageing Research Centre
The Quality of Ageing Research Centre (QUARC) was established as the ageing and health centre of the N8 Research Partnership It is funded by Northern Way to harness the north of England research excellence in this field for collaborative research with industry.
The Centre is built around the strong ageing and health research of Newcastle University’s Institute for Ageing and Health (IAH) and Sheffield University’s Sheffield Institute for Studies on Ageing (SISA), supported by York University’s Centre for Useable Home Technology (CUHTec). However, it is able to draw on academic groups throughout the north of England and seeks to draw together and manage groups representing the most appropriate researchers available.
The Centre has initially focussed on Assisted Living and Wellbeing but is able to consider opportunities in all areas of related research.
