Investigating the causes of hospital acquired pneumonia in non-ventilated older persons and prevention of pneumonia.

Current Work

I am currently undertaking a PhD based between Newcastle University and the Health Protection Agency, Newcastle and funded by MRC.

I am designing a molecular assay for hospital acquired pathogens and using this to help model the factors contributing to the development of hospital acquired pneumonia in hip fracture patients.
