Research Interests
My major research interests are the role of mitochondrial DNA mutations in disease. Mitochondrial DNA disorders are a common group of inborn errors of metabolism and the diagnosis and management of patients with these defects has been a major interest of our group. More recently we have been exploring the role of mitochondrial abnormalities in neurodegenerative disease, ageing and cancer.
