Prof Simi Ali features in Inspirational Women of North East England Exhibition
Simi is featured alongside famous historical names including Catherine Cookson, Mo Mowlam, Dame Eleanor Allan and younger subjects such as Olympic gold medallist Kat Copeland and Newcastle undergraduate and polar explorer Bryony Balen.
The exhibition, to run from 3rd October until 21th December in the Hatton Gallery, Newcastle, celebrates the many iconic women connected with the North east and who make an essential contribution to the life of the region. The primary objective of the exhibition is to increase awareness of women's contribution to the life of this region and their success in multiple fields. It will also contribute to fostering regional pride, social cohesion and enhanced local identity in connection with women's achievements past, present and future.
