Thanks to a series of major infrastructural awards, notably
from the Wellcome Trust, Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and the development agency One North East, the
Institute of Genetic Medicine is extremely well equipped for carrying out molecular
genetic, cell biology and developmental biology research.
