By Road

Private Transport: From the north or south, follow the A1 towards Newcastle. Leave the A1 (Western Bypass) at the junction A184 (signposted Newcastle, to the Redheugh Bridge). Take the immediate left as you leave the bridge, turn left at the roundabout and follow the road round. Follow the sign for the Times Square car park and then take a sharp right into the Times Square car park. Ample car parking space is available in this multi-storey car park in Railway Street. The Centre for Life can also be reached via the A69, A184, A1058 and the A167. Follow signs for Central Station and Newcastle Arena.

Public Transport: the city's coach and bus stations, including Gallowgate, are within easy reach of the Institute of Genetic Medicine, by foot, taxi or metro.

By Bus/Metro/Train:

Take a bus, metro or train to Newcastle Central Station. Leave the station and turn left, you will see a large blue building and the sign of the Centre for Life about 2 minutes walk away. As you approach the Centre for Life you will see the glass entrance of the Institute of Genetic Medicine to your left. If you reach Times Sqaure you have gone too far.

By Air:

The Centre for Life is just 15 minutes drive from Newcastle International Airport. You can also travel by Metro from the aiport to the Central Station which will take about 25 minutes. The Centre for Life is just a two minute walk from Central Station.
