Having enjoyed considerable success in mapping and identifying
disease genes, a major research focus of the IGM now is to study the functions
of the genes involved and their role in pathogenesis. Several of our research
groups are now engaged in using mice and zebrafish to model disease and/or study
the functions of genes known or suspected to be involved in disease. Research
