Our enterprise activity includes the provision of continuing professional development for healthcare professionals.

Screening and Brief alcohol intervention (SBI) materials:

Professor Eileen Kaner, colleagues from Gateshead Primary Care Trust and Northumbria University have developed a programme of screening and brief alcohol intervention (SBI) materials in partnership with local general practices. The brief intervention programme called 'How much is too much?' has been highlighted in National Guidance on developing local programme of health improvement and it is increasingly being used by a wide range of clincians from across the UK and abroad. The development of this brief intervention programme was made possible by a research grant from Sunderland Teaching Primary Care Trust.
