“Adverse childhood experiences in health and society”

CV Synopsis

'Doug Simkiss is a Consultant Community Paediatrician and Deputy Medical Director of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. He has been a designated doctor for looked after children for 15 years in two local authority areas. He worked at Warwick Medical School from 2004-13 and remains an honorary Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Mental Health and Wellbeing at WMS. His PhD was a case controlled study on the risk factors for children entering public care and he was Chief Investigator of a NIHR Programme Development Grant looking at transition for looked after children with mental illnesses. He is the clinical lead for the children and young person's workstream of the Birmingham & Solihull Sustainability and Transformation Partnership
