On 21 April 2016, the Queen turned 90, joining over half a million people in Britain who are aged 90 and over.
Professor Thomas Scharf, Professor of Social Gerontology in the School of Health & Society, took part in a live phone-in on Radio 4's You and Yours programme with the theme "What can we learn from the Queen's generation".
In his contribution, Tom emphasised the contributions made by people aged 90 and over to families, communities, and society.
