Two Presentations: Implementation research - theory and practice and Alcohol consumption in pregnancy - prevalence, predictors, prevention

Implementation research - theory and practice Per Nilsen will present an overview of implementation research, describing historical antecedants of the current wave of research focused on implementation of evidence-based practices in health care and many other settings. He will describe different types of theories, models and frameworks used in this research and examples will be provided. Nilsen will also describe implementation research projects currently underway at Linköping University, which has become one of the leading universities in the Nordic countries for this type of research.

Alcohol consumption in pregnancy - prevalence, predictors, prevention Janna Skagerström will present the studies that will form her dissertation thesis. The studies concern alcohol consumption during pregnancy from different perspectives: prevalence rates; predictors for continued drinking after pregnancy recognition; preventive activities in antenatal care; and perceptions regarding alcohol consumption during pregnancy among non-pregnant women. She will also briefly describe the Swedish context, with rising alcohol consumption and the implementation of a new preventive routine in antenatal care.
