1970 Ph.D. in applied maths and theoretical physics (Queen's Univeristy, Belfast)
1973 Post-graduate Diploma in Statistics (University of Edinburgh)
1997 Chartered Statistician (Royal Statistical Society)

Research Interests

Systematic review and meta-analysis, in particular systematic reviews in the area of gynaecological cancer, hypertension, brief interventions to reduce abuse of alcohol.
Paediatric epidemiology, in particular diasbility.

Current Work

• SPARCLE: a multi-centre European-funded project to assess the influence of the environment on participation and quality of life in young people with cerebral palsy.
