    Notes: This article grew out of having been invited to deliver Scrymgeour Public Lecture in May 2002 at the University of Dundee under the title : “Regulatory restitution under financial regulation” . It examines the Courts’ and financial regulators approach to making restitutionary/compensatory orders under financial services regulatory legislation both against regulated firms and against company officers and other accessories. This particular refereed journal was selected as an appropriate internationally respected scholarly outlet due to the original lecture having been given in a general public lecture series around the theme of restitution.
