Dr Mehdi Javanbakht
Senior Research Associate
After completing his Ph.D. program in 2013, Mehdi joined Health Economics Research Unit (HERU) at the University of Aberdeen in the UK. He worked in HERU until January 2016 as a research fellow and data analyst and modeler. He was also involved in the appraisal of HTA submissions to the NICE Technology Appraisal Committee. Mehdi is currently working as a senior research associate at Newcastle University, working on several projects including; TAGS, ESTER, PASTA, and NOTEPAD. Before joining Newcastle University he worked in a multinational life sciences consulting firm in London as a senior consultant.
His current research interests span both model and trial based economic evaluation, with specific areas of interests including the evaluation of technologies in widespread routine use, the use of patient-level data to inform decision models (cohort and individual-level simulation models and discrete event simulation models (DES)), evidence synthesis to inform economic models and the valuation of outcomes within economic evaluation.
